Read This Before You Use LinkedIn's Career Break Feature
Are you currently on a career break and want potential recruiters to be able to find you on LinkedIn? Today we will explore the features that you can use instead of the career break feature.
In our fast-paced world, we often find ourselves caught in the relentless pursuit of our careers. But what happens when we decide to hit pause and take a career break?
A career break is like a temporary detour in the journey of life. It's that moment when you decide to step back from your regular job and take some time off. It can be a few months or even years, depending on your circumstances. But why do people take them?
Relocation, personal growth, and other factors are a few of the many causes of career breaks.
So if you’ve ever taken a break in your career, you’re not alone.
Good News!
According to a recent survey, 51% of recruiters say they are more likely to contact a candidate that provides context on the reason for the career break. To help professionals who take career breaks, LinkedIn introduced a career break feature. By including a career break on your LinkedIn profile, you can emphasize how these life experiences are transferable to potential employers.
BUT!
Based on recent research by @cgl_recruiting it was discovered that using the career break features will prevent your LinkedIn profile from showing up on recruiters' pages especially if you embark on some personal development during this break that you would like to showcase.
Watch the YouTube video below for a step-by-step breakdown of how to add a career break to your LinkedIn profile.
